This Custom Dog Portrait Got Me All Emotional

Update: The Pet Sketch Portraits shop is no longer available on Etsy.
Are you on the hunt for the perfect gift for a dog lover in your life? Consider getting a custom dog portrait. It’s personal, it’s stunning, and it’ll definitely tug at their heartstrings.
I recently got one from Pet Sketch Portraits (you can find her on Instagram), and it’s hands down one of the best things I’ve purchased this year. It genuinely moved me. And, to be honest, as much as I like to come across as tough, I shed a few tears when I first saw it.
What to Expect When Ordering a Custom Dog Portrait
Since I don’t often shop online and had never ordered anything custom before, I had no idea what to anticipate. It was also my first time buying on Etsy. However, the whole process was surprisingly easy, even for a newbie like me. I visited the shop, chose the type of portrait I wanted (I opted for the $45 digital “Custom Pet Portrait Sketch”), and completed my purchase using my credit card or PayPal.
After that, I simply followed the instructions and emailed a few high-resolution photos of my dog Laika to the artist. Picking out the photos took some time, as I had to go through over 10,000 of them. (I bet many of you can relate!) A few days later, I received my digital portrait, and yep, the tears flowed.
Just look at it. It gives me all the feels.
Why a Custom Dog Portrait is Totally Worth It
There’s something incredibly special about having a custom piece made, especially one featuring the sweet face of your beloved dog.
Honestly, nothing I’ve ever bought for $45 has had such a strong emotional impact, except maybe that one time I got a perm as a kid, but those were different kinds of tears! This portrait is beautiful, deeply personal, and it’s a fantastic way to support an amazing artist. If you’ve ever thought about getting a custom dog portrait, I highly recommend Pet Sketch Portraits.
Just to clarify, this isn’t a sponsored review, and I have no ties to the artist. I simply bought this portrait for myself and was so impressed that I had to share my experience.
